It’s been a long time coming but I have finally been bitten by the bug and embraced Patreon.
For those who don’t know, Patreon is a site that rekindles the old ways that artists used to operate: by having patrons provide the funding so that they could do what they did best. In the olden days, it used to be kings and lords but in the modern day, it’s kind folk like yourself, dear reader, that are the true patrons.
So why the change? Am I selling out?
So why the change? Am I selling out? No, not at all. Quite the opposite actually. It’s because my creative endeavours have been taking a back seat to other day to day things like, you know, working at the day job. Since it puts food on the table, I feel obligated that I dedicate my peak hours to that. Hence, my thought:
“Why not use the sense of expectation from others to create more art?”
By supporting me, you’re also holding me accountable to create new works and also to share the behind the scenes tid-bits and to influence the works that come to be.
It’s not all about the money (the Patreon pledges start from $1!!!) but I’d love to dedicate more time to all the creative aspects and I hope to see you over there!
