As you might have seen from my portfolio and the photos from this year, I am a big fan of Skylum software and the myriad of products that they make, including the amazing Luminar 3. So you might understand my excitement now that they have released the details and the release date for the next version of this AI powered wunderkid, Luminar 4!
New Features
The new update brings a TON of new features including a redesigned and streamlined interface for the program as well a host of brand new tool. The headline feature is AI sky replacement! Just pause here and look at this graphic for a moment:
Just one click and that boring sky is gone! None of that slow, tedious out-lining and masking required! This is something I can’t WAIT to try out on some of my landscape shots (their website has a cool web previewer of this feature you can play with)
Other features like AI Portrait enhancement and AI Contrast also look great too, but the Sky Replacement is the thing I can’t wait to try. Their Sunrays Effect is another that I use and it looks like the rays seem more “natural” in the promo images so I’m hoping that there is a tweak here too.
Release date & deals
Well Luminar 4 is coming out on the 18th of November and you can pre-order it right now and get Luminar 4 for $79 (will go up to $89 after release). The other offer they have til release is a discounted price and an included SmugMug portfolio (worth $180) for new users.
