This week has been pretty darn productive and also a mix of interesting and very sad. Quite a range for a week, right? On the positives, the fact that Melbourne is opening up means that last week and onwards, I have been out for way too many meals. It’s been great catching up with friends after so long.
On the nerdy front, this was the first time I felt like I knew enough Python programming to have an idea for program and be able to code it like I intended to. Here’s what my initial sketch and final output looked like. The second image looks a bit more empty because I managed to hide part of the action until after you hit the button. It turned out fancier than I imagined!
To balance out the fun and the nerdy, I did have to cover the Covid wards earlier this week. That was a bit depressing. I wrote about it over on Medium. That was quite a depressing experience which I didn’t expect considering this isn’t my first time doing this role. It’s just been a few months, but what a difference that can make into the type of patients were seeing…
Anyway, I’m still on a high after being able to complete my little programming project, so I’m not going to focus on the negatives this time around. I’ve always known I liked making/building things, but I always forget just how SATISFYING it is everytime I finish one of these nerdy/creative projects. Maybe I’ll start allocating some more time to these things in the near future. Because a newsletter, podcast, photography and now programming isn’t enough already…
On the cat front, today started with Gary chasing Luna around all morning. She was getting quite distressed and being cornered here and there the whole day. This afternoon though, she got her revenge…
That’s right…she went and took over Gary’s beloved cat bed. I was wondering why he was hovering awkwardly near the couch and when I saw this, I burst out laughing! Luna is a such a non-violent and gentle cat but she does has sass!
